Method: Handbuilding; sculpting

Process: Inspired by the ocean and the organic shapes of the coral reefs. I embraced a spontaneous creation using the material inform the fluid and organic shape. Clay was added to the base that add volume and impact.

Significance: Working spontaneously with organic forms liberated me from perfectionism, my inner critic and let the material guide me. People interpreted my piece in different ways— coastal, the essence of fire, and fabric-like. Art shouldn’t be too obvious; it should be open to interpretation.
